Ingredients
- 1KG McCain French Fries (frozen, ready to make)
- 1 tbsp oil
- 4 tsp red chilli powder
- 3 tsp salt
- 3 tsp sugar
Other Requirements
- Air fryer
- Mixie grinder
Steps to Prepare
Peri peri powder
- Mix 4 tsp of red chilli powder, 3 tsp of salt & 3 tsp of sugar
- Pour the manually mixed mixture into the mixie grinder, and run for 30 seconds
- Taste and change proportions as required
- Keep the powder aside for usage (store in a dry environment)






Air fry
- Take 0.5 tbsp of oil and brush along the inside basket of the air fryer (all sides)
- If a brush isn't available, dip a tissue paper in the oil and spread along the basket
- Take 0.5KGs of frozen McCain fries and add to air fryer basket
- Turn air fryer on to 200° C for 10 minutes
- Take the basket out and check the fries
- Carefully remove the basket and shake the fries about, to ensure that different pieces are facing different directions
- Reinsert the basket & once again turn air fryer on to 200° C for 10 minutes
- If the fries aren't yet crisp enough (golden yellow) or there is still stuck on them, shake and switch on the fryer for another 5 minutes
- Put the fries into a bowl
- Add half the peri peri mix to the fires and keep tossing / shaking to ensure uniform application
- Repeat the process of frying and adding mixture for remaining 0.5KGs of fries
- Note that the process is done in two batches to ensure quality frying
